The coffee table is no longer an item on which to place the television remote or your feet. It is one of the most budget-friendly ways to elevate your living room design, and it has the potential to set the tone of the complete interior. While trying to balance style and function on a small surface can be a challenge, there easy ways to do it.
With tons of pretty home decor ideas on social media, I came up with a few helpful tips from some my favorite stylist on Instagram to come up with some theme inspiration for creating the perfect coffee table look.
Your coffee table is far more than just a table to put your mug on; it is a small island in your living room that can show a little bit of your personality. Show your style and let it reflect your mood! Be whimsical, get creative. Whether it be relaxed, inspired, or dreamy. Show your style and personality.
Flowers are always a pure delight. It is also another money-saving way of adding color to your space, just add flowers (good fake options will do and save money in the long run) to a vase for an extra dose of style. Flowers will provide a focal point of color and bring new life to the space.
From candlesticks to vases, hints of gold and other metallics: all will add an instant luxe look to your space. This works best against a neutral backdrop – with marble or mirror surfaces for an instant wow.
A bit of foliage never hurt anyone, so whether it’s an assortment of cacti or eucalyptus branches, give your living space a central focus with a pop of green. Sometimes, less is more. The simplicity of design allows us to highlight other elements in the room and also allows for a bit of breathing space.
A grouping of items with varying heights, textures, shapes, and colors creates a beautiful display. In this one, I decided to pick up the colors from the pillows and use it to the coffee table because of its “high energy” feel to it which is needed to spice up this boring room.
Rectangular coffee tables, in particular, can be styled with beautiful symmetry using a repetition of objects that runs lengthwise. Look for a commonality among the objects used, such as shape or color, so that no one object competes with another. Grouping together a collection of similar items is beautiful to look at.
Your coffee table is the little island in your living room where you can easily express your style and personality. Whether it be flowers, candles, books or colorful vases, it is important to remember style and function. Don’t forget that this is a coffee table – and there should still be space where you can put your cup of coffee.
